Very majestic looking slate mantel clock with marble features and gilded scrollwork.
This is an awesome looking clock, with an unusual pediment and roof configuration. It would look great on a large mantelpiece or side table, to give the room style harking back to the British Empire.
The case has been restored, and the slate blacking replaced, the engraved scrollwork has been re-gilded.
The movement has been fully stripped, cleaned and serviced, and should be good for another 100 years with the correct servicing periods.
The ceramic dial has some chips around the keyhole, but apart from that is in lovely condition, as are the original hands.
The clock comes with a replacement pendulum and key (originals were lost in time).
