This is a cute Bakelite mantel clock made by Smiths Clock and Watches Ltd.

The name gives us a rough idea of the date as they started using this name in 1955, although they introduced a new designed floating balance in 1956, and as this clock does not have that type of balance, we can assume it was built in 1955.

The brown Bakelite case is in very good condition, with no noticeable cracks or scratches, the dial is in perfect condition.

The movement has been thoroughly stripped, overhauled and serviced and is ready for another 50 years of service.

The clock strikes on the hour and half hour via a gong.

The clock comes with the original pendulum, but the key is a replacement.
